Wedding Photographer The Rectory, Crudwell
Over the years I’d shot in The Cotswolds a few times, though never photographed a wedding at The Rectory and to say that I was excited about shooting here would be an understatement. A quick scoot through Google images will testify that Weddings at The Rectory are divine. Fact. It’s no wonder that this extraordinary, luxe boutique hotel features in the uber exclusive Mr & Mrs Smith. The Rectory is a stunning wedding venue. Surrounded by three acres of scrupulously manicured gardens, this place is country living personified. Dani & Tom married at All Saints Church, which (unsurprisingly) lies in the shadow of The Rectory, and boy what a church it is! This stunning Grade I listed building with its finely carved Jacobean pews and medieval remains of a seven sacrament window pane is bursting with history and the vicar, Reverend Canon Barry Raven is one of the nicest I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Dani wore a stunning dress from Spanish designer Jesus Peiro, finished off with a beautiful Joyce Jackson veil and LK Bennett heels. Groom Tom looked super sharp in a navy suit. In the service we were treated to two readings, the first read by Lucy Cotton, Solomon 2,8 and the second by Raza Jaffrey, ‘On Marriage’ from Khalil Gibran. The congregation were also treated with the breathtaking voices of The Swindon Male Voice Choir and after the service, Dani and Tom were ushered back inside the church for a heart wrenching rendition of the Elvis classic “I can’t help falling in love with you” which had everyone present in tears. It was a super wedding with some beautiful detail. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail using the cotton elements (i.e. Mr & Mrs Cotton!) which acted as a thread to link all the details of the day. Loved the hymn sheets filled with lavender for confetti. A beautiful wedding, a lovely couple, two wonderful families and probably the most glorious floral work (from Flowers By Passion) I have seen. Thank you again Dani & Tom for everything.
