Today the wedding photographs at Ston Easton of the adorable Lucy & Matt. I vividly remember my first contact with Lucy & Matt which took place almost a year ago to the day. Originally from the UK though now living in New York, they were planning their wedding remotely from Upper East Side Manhattan. They'd booked their wedding reception to take place at Ston Easton and now wanted to book me. Fast forward twelve months and there I was stood in the grounds of Ston Easton. Well after midnight, it was the first time that I'd had a few moments to collect my thoughts and I knew as I captured the final scene of the day that I had witnessed something quite unique. Today was no ordinary wedding. Ask any guest present at this wedding and they will vouch for me. It was just a wee bit special for a multitude of reasons.... Maybe it was the New York cab Lucy and Matt commandeered? Maybe it was Lucy's sister's heart wrenching rendition of 'Feels Like Home', the theme tune from Dawsons Creek (with some very apt lyrics)? Maybe it was the singing waiters who managed to bring the entire wedding party to their feet to serenade Lucy & Matt with New York, New York? Maybe it was the touching speeches from groom Matt and father of the bride Mike that left many reaching for their hankies? Or maybe it was the best man's speech from JP that had the whole marquee in stitches with his superb Dragon's Den style slideshow complete with his very own panel of avuncular 'Dragons'? Maybe it was Lucy & Matt's incredibly well rehearsed first dance to Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes - I've Had the Time of My Life. Maybe it was the fact that Lucy's Dad, like me, is a huge fan of West Ham? Call me shallow, but maybe, just maybe it was even the Manolo Blahnik killer heels that did it?

The whole wedding just seemed to come together so beautifully, so perfectly that the day was to my mind completely flawless....save for the intermittent rain. But hey, it's lucky to have rain on your wedding day anyway. A huge thank you to Lucy & Matt for a great day and a massive thank you also goes out to GM Denis Verrier at Ston Easton and all his lovely staff who looked after me so beautifully. Ston Easton is an exceptional venue and I am afraid that my photographs do not scratch the surface. If the weather had been fine, we could have easily wiled away an hour or two shooting fantastic photos in the grounds though we were stymied by the wet stuff. Ston Easton is a genuinely breathtaking wedding venue and I sincerely can't wait to return again!! Thanks, Jay
