It’s been a crazy couple of weeks since I photographed Karen & Graeme’s gorgeous New Forest wedding. Graeme and I go back a long, long way. All the way back to secondary school! And what an amazing privilege it was to get the call from Graeme to ask if I’d be up for taking wedding photos of Karen and himself getting married.
I have almost finished processing the photos though not quite. So in the meantime here is a sneak peak to whet the appetite! This particular images was taken not far from Bouldre right in the heart of the New Forest National Park.
I’m sure like most people I do wear rose coloured glasses about my childhood however, I do seem to have so many happy memories growing up very close to this beautiful area, not far Sanbanks in Dorset.
As we were hurtled back to the hotel for the first dance, I had a vivid flashback. I suddenly remembered having a picnic not far from this spot where this photo was taken. My grandfather parked his Renault in the car park, we had a delicious picnic on a blanket after which he promptly fell asleep. My beautiful grandmother and my sister then ventured off to climb trees in the forest and fly my kite. Happy memories from a truly special location. Happy weekend everyone. Jay x
