Wedding photography Limoges, France. Emily & Alfred jetted in from Singapore to marry in one of my all time favourite wedding venues, Chateau La Durantie. A breathtaking chateau originally built in the 1840’s to be the principal home of the Duke of Isly, one of Napoleon’s most respected military leaders. These days the chateau is a unique venue which hosts incredible weddings and parties for fabulous clients from across the globe. With more than 12 acres of grounds, it is a magnificent setting and one which I very much feel at home, having photographed here half a dozen times over the years. Emily & Alfred married at the extraordinary Eglise St Thomas in the medieval town of Excideuil. Alfred whizzed Emily away from the church in style in his fathers immaculate Jaguar E Type convertible. Back at the sun drenched chateau, a champagne reception in the grounds were followed by delicious canapés, oysters and locally sourced melt in the mouth serrano ham. The breakfast was served in the marquee and was followed by three excellent speeches. In the evening, entertainment came in the form of my favourite wedding band, the world renowned Fake Tan who had flown in from London. It was a riotous evening which seemed to evaporate in the blink of an eye. So much so, that the first time I looked at my watch it was 2.30am with the party still very much in full swing! I said my goodbyes and made my way home….though I understand that many of the revellers stayed up until 5.30am! A herculean effort considering how early the preparations had started. All told, it was an exceptional weekend of fun in France and one which will linger in the memory for many years to come. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the sensational Victoria, Charlotte and Ralph, the owners of this breathtaking chateau for their hospitality over the weekend. Together they work tirelessly to make sure that everything always goes to plan and their hard work is always appreciated. A massive thank you also to Emily, Alfred and your respective family and friends for making me feel so at home and for looking after me. Enough of my ramblings, let’s get on with the show!
