Wedding photography Cote D’Azur, France. I can remember the email arriving back in 2014. Sarah the bride was planning her wedding roughly 40 minutes drive from St Tropez in a little place called Le Lavendou in the Cote D’Azur. Firstly, would I be interested in flying over to France for the nuptials and secondly was I available? Firstly of course I was very interested in travelling to France for the wedding and secondly I was free for the entire weekend. I couldn’t believe my luck. Le Lavandou is a delicious seaside town where I spent my 21st birthday and so the prospect of returning to this magical little place had me weak at the knees. And return I did and the first thing I did was hot foot it to the beach to soak up the views of the bay! My only regret was that I wasn’t able to bring my family with me…..it’s clear that I will need to return again! Le Lavandou is an utterly beautiful village and remarkably unspoilt by tourism and named a such after the lavender which is hugely prevalent in this area. How quaint! Sarah & Tim married at the ethereal Saint Trophime Eglise, a few kilometres north into the hills of the Cote d’Azur in the charming market town of Bormes Les Mimosas, much to the delight of the locals! With Tim’s Scottish heritage, it was decided to pay tribute to the great nation with beautiful thistles in the button holes, along with cornflowers and lavender (of course!) on the pew ends and bridal party bouquets. The blues tied in so nicely with the bridesmaid’s blue dresses as well as Tim’s fabulous tartan kilt and sporran! The reception was held at the local restaurant back in the village, Akwaba Beach. Three superb speeches from Sarah’s father and Tim plus an hilarious speech from best man James Dudgeon. Roasting hot weather and wall to wall sunshine which you come to expect from this corner of the world with a killer sunset to boot. An unforgettable day.
